Approximately 10,000 marijuana plants with a potential street value of $40 Million was destroyed by narcotics agents early last week.

According to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, last week  state and local authorities  located a large  Marijuana plantation containing thousands of plants. The marijuana was grown in plain sight – in the Partington Ridge area of Los Padres National Forest…

Upon it’s discovery it was quickly stamped out by officers of an elite narcotics task force and the California department of Justice. Dispite the clear edvidence – ‘the mountains of marijuana’, arrest have not been made and the investigation is still pending, in this one of the largest narcotics bust in monterey county history.

She was found in a Caravan in Norfolk, there is speculation as to why the former Royal Medical Corps Technician would want to take her life. Family and friends say it’s because she was discharged against her will, others say it was the mental strain ‘Post -traumatic stress’ she suffered after serving six years in such war thorn places as Bosnia and kosovo.

The school of thought, is that the cocaine used only served to aggrevate his heart condition ultimately killing him. There is a great divide among popular opinion, many feel that since cocaine is washed out of the system within 24 -hours it could have not caused the heart attack., in order for this to have happened – he must have used cocaine that very day.

The year long investigation Code name “Operation Eliminacion” was spear-headed by the New York Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Strike Force, DEA in Connecticut and New Jersey, and the Colombian National Police, ANTIN Heroin Task Force.

The strategies employed during this covert mission utilized over 40 court ordered wiretaps in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Colombia. The spoils of this investigation yielded, numerous drug presses, Narcotic Trafficking Paraphernalia, and on several occasions sizable amounts of heroin with a total street value of approximately $24 Million.

The ”crème de la crème” revealed during this investigation, was the method these two men used to transport the drugs from colombia to the United states, through Panama & Guatemala – Kidney Beans. The Heroin was Concealed inside packages of Kidney Beans, which were then resealed intheir original Cellophane wrappers.

Since pain can’t be measured, it can be almost imppossible to figure out with absolute certainty whether the patients Opiate Needs are legitimate or simply just a ruse - intended to feed an addiction. This conundrum has caused many doctors to become scene as villians, victims of the under/over opiate prescription dilemma.

No one ever told me that the climb to recovery is paved with steps – 12 steps total. Now, I’m a pretty fit guy psychically, however, back then I had a hard time emotionally – even while climbing that first step. 

You see, I’m a “Type-A” alpha male personality and back then you couldn’t tell me a thing; if Albert Einstein himself came back from the grave and told me the earth circled around the sun, I’d say bullshit. 

Now, with that level of ego getting in my way, how could I accept what step 1 proposed: “The I admit I am powerless over Narcotics – That my life had become unmanageable.” I laughed ha “me powerless” me “my life unmanageable” ha, what a bunch of gator balls. 

With that attitude I paid little attention to the steps and I continued going about my life experiencing the same people, places and things ya know.”  But then in a moment of clarity (My dealer wasn’t returning my calls, to get some dope on credit ya know what I’m talking about) I stumbled on the InTheRooms.com site and started reading one of the NA blogs. 

What I read showed me just how powerless and unmanageable my life really had become.  In the blog one of the members completely began spilling his guts about the things he did to get high like stealing from his elderly parents and pawning the jewelry (I could relate), like stealing money from his kids piggy banks/college fund (I don’t have kids but I remember stealing money from my nieces and nephews – so I could definitely relate) pretty soon I started to realize that, I was this guy and that my life had indeed been unmanageable and powerless for quite some time.
 
Because of that blog I decided to find a home meeting to start the 12 step process, I am proud to say my ego finally took a back seat – today I haven’t picked up the pipe in over 7 months… about the only thing I have picked up is my desire to blog on InTheRooms.com maybe I can help another “Know-it-All” get over himself.
