I’m a recovering addict who is also a chronic pain patient. My Doctor doesn’t up my dose often but I have mis-used and abused my meds. Right nos I seem to be doning okay, but I feel that i’m always walking on a knife blade and that at anytime “my addict” wil rear her ugly head and than I will start lying and manipulating to get more drugs. My partner keeps them locked in a safe and she is the one to whom I due the worst damage. I’ve been in pain for years and we’ve done this “dance” for years. I’ve wrecked so much havoc on our relationship that it is very shaky at this point. I’ve gon to meetings where I live and been struke down by the NA/AA nazis who don’t understand that we get illnesses and injuries that cause us to have chronic pain. I’ve looked for treatment centers that deal with this issue that don’t say you have to get off of your meds, if I was off my meds I couldn’t function in treatment, but there are issues that we need assistance with. I’m glad I found this site.

I’m new to recovery and I don’t exactly know how to start.
I have been to a few AA meetings but I’d like to try out NA,
I live in Burbank and if anybody knows of a good program in the area I would appreciate the help. Preferably less focused on religion

Hello this is awesome im originally from Los Angeles area but im now in san diego county, and I am on my way there tomorrow and the first thing I want to do is meet people with some strong recovery. I have seven years clean and sober and have allowed myself to live in an abusive relationship with another recovery addict and I am in terrible emotional pain and using is not an option. I need to talk about it, can a sister get someone to reach out. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
