The beauty of the meetings is that you can update them and make them accurate for others to see. Once you register you can edit the meetings to make them accurate and include more information.

I would like to know if there are any folks in NA who got their narcotics by prescription and just kept upping and upping the doses through chronic pain docs or doctor shopping. Is this considered narcotic addiction and if so are their meeting that address this type of addiction in older people who do have chronic pain but may have gone far beyond the minimum of narcotics needed for their pain. Any direction would be helpful. This is for a friend. I am also interested in Narconon meetings but not if they are affiliated in anyway with Scientology, which I have heard can be a problem.
Thanks!

Many Americans use telemedicine to obtain hydrocodone containing products such as Hydrocodone, Lortab, Lorcet, Vicodin and other medications to treat chronic pain or anxiety. For chronic pain & anxiety patients without insurance telemedicine is often the only affordable way to obtain medications. Because prices for pain clinics, physiotherapy and visits to local physicians are often unaffordable for uninsured middle class US citizens it is no surprise that many buy their medications online.
If you ever went to a pain clinic you likely had to visit every month in order to receive your prescriptions. This findrxonline what Not only is the price of a consultation very steep (usually around $500 for initial and $250+ for follow ups) but then there is also the cost of expensive shots and medications. There are also many people who need surgery but who can’t afford it. For others who already had surgery and are still experiencing chronic pain there may not even be any solution besides ongoing pain management with strong pain medications.
Often your local physician will stop prescribing pain medication when surgery is recommended but not performed or when pain medication is required for longer periods of time. If you’re lucky you’ll get 30-60 tabs of Vicodin or Lortab which will cost around $140 for the consultation plus a few bucks for the medication itself. Most people don’t realize how hard it is for legit pain patients to find a doctor who is willing to help you out without charging an arm and a leg.
If you suffer chronic back pain a local doctor will almost always advice $2000 worth of physiotherapy once a week at $250 per session for two months. Unfortunately this type of treatment does usually have minimum effect on those with conditions such as herniated or compressed disks and the pain will insist and return if you have such a chronic condition. Next he may refer you to a neurologist who will charge $200+ just to send you to the hospital for an MRI or whatever tests he/she feels necessary for proper diagnose.

Drug rehab programs in LA are a great way to start. I like this blog a lot. I think you’ve got some valid points and it would be nice to stumble across this early in sobriety.
